Opening up the future

We empower teams to achieve their goals. By building software that makes working together easier, we can help every team achieve their most ambitious goals. It’s our chance to accelerate human progress. We’re off to a great start—fast-growing companies like Uber and Pinterest already run on Phenom. We have a considerable mission and an even bigger opportunity: to change the way teams work together. We’d love your help.

How we use AI in our hiring process

We use technology, including AI supported tools, to help make our hiring process more efficient, consistent, and fair. AI does not make hiring decisions on our behalf — people always do. Here’s how it’s used:

Fit Score
When you apply, our system may generate a Fit Score for a role.
The Fit Score helps recruiters understand how closely your background aligns with the job requirements based only on the following role-relevant information:
  • Job title
  • Skills
  • Work experience
  • Location, when it is relevant for the role

These are the only types of information used to generate the Fit Score. The criteria applied to these factors are reviewed and configured by recruiters to reflect the requirements of the specific role.

The Fit Score does not consider personal characteristics and does not make hiring decisions. It is designed only to support recruiters in reviewing applications more consistently and identifying potentially relevant candidates.
  • It does not automatically reject or advance candidates
  • Recruitment decisions are always made by recruiters
  • The Fit Score is only one of several factors that may be considered during candidate review

AI supported discovery
Recruiters may use AI supported discovery tools to help identify potentially relevant profiles for open roles. These tools search for and analyze job related information (skills, experience, job titles, and location) from individuals who are already in our CRM because they have previously applied for a role or joined our Talent Community. This helps recruiters search and review existing talent pools, such as past applicants and Talent Community members, and identify potentially relevant candidates for open opportunities.

AI supported discovery does not make selection decisions and does not automatically remove candidates from consideration.

AI supported discovery:
  • is used by recruiters to support additional sourcing,
  • does not automatically select, reject, or contact candidates, and
  • operates in accordance with candidates’ consent choices and applicable data protection requirements.

Chatbot support
Our careers site includes a chatbot that will try to answer common questions and help guide you through the site. For example, it can:
  • Help you find job opportunities
  • Explain next steps in the hiring process
  • Support you with setting up job alerts

Conversations with our chatbot are designed to help you navigate career opportunities, answer questions, and guide you to relevant job openings. The chatbot may use information you provide during the conversation to assist with your search, but it does not create or submit an application on your behalf.

Any information you share with the chatbot, such as details about your experience, skills, or career interests, is used only to support the conversation and is not automatically transferred into a specific job application. The chatbot does not retain or submit resumes, or other application materials as part of the application process.

If you decide to apply for a role, the chatbot will direct you to the application form. You must complete the application yourself and provide any required information, such as your resume, contact details, and applicable consents, directly through the application form. Only information submitted through the application process will be considered as part of your application.

Interview scheduling
AI Interview Scheduling uses AI to help automate interview coordination and candidate communications. For example, the system can interpret certain candidate responses and assist with actions such as rescheduling interviews when the candidate clearly requests a new time.
The AI does not make independent hiring decisions and is used only to support the scheduling process. Employees responsible for coordinating interviews always have visibility into communications sent to candidates as well as responses received from candidates. At any point during the process, they can review the conversation, intervene, and take any necessary action.
If a candidate's response is unclear, ambiguous, or falls outside the scenarios the system can confidently interpret (for example, when the intent is not clearly a rescheduling request or a decline), the conversation is escalated to a human recruiter or coordinator for review and follow-up. This helps ensure candidates receive appropriate assistance and prevents decisions from being made based on information the system cannot reliably understand.
